8x10 Abandoned Building with Pedestrians: Darkroom Fine Art Photo Print

Shipping to United States: Free

I photographed this image in 2016 as part of a larger project called 30 Days of Knight.

I was shooting the building, getting real low by sitting on the pavement and leaning back.

I noticed out of the corner of my eye two people coming, I didn't know what they looked like and didn't want to stare, so I just waited for them to come into frame and fired this shot.

What i like about this photo is it shows the old and the new. An old building and the new one in the background. The two men parallel that. An older man and younger man.

My name is Azriel Knight and I’m a traditional film photographer living in Calgary located in Western Canada. That is smack dab in the prairies, but near the rocky mountains. I like photograph to urban details I find in cities, small towns and also enjoy the Alberta and British Columbia landscape. You’ll find photos of the mountains, badlands, the concrete garden of cityscapes, prairies, and even wetlands. I’m a particular fan of trains, bridges, abandoned buildings, ghost towns, the old west, and historical neighborhoods. I love the texture in wood, and rust. I also love decay and things that peel. If you enjoy that kind of scenery, and the old vintage look of traditional black & white photography, I think you may find something in my shop.

All of my work is hand-made by me from start to finish. I use a range of antique 35mm and medium format cameras, and a combination of modern and expired films, papers and chemistry in a traditional wet darkroom I built in my home.

If you haven’t owned an analog print before, slight imperfections are inherent with film photography and tray processing. This is what many people attribute film’s character to and what makes each photo print unique. However, each print is thoroughly inspected to ensure it meets my high standards of quality and I offer a no questions asked refund policy within 30 days of contact and 60 days of return. If you are ever unsure if something is “normal” please ask. I promise to be forthcoming as I only want my best work to leave my hands.
